ELT Auvergne
Choosing the Auvergne region and Puy-en-Velay for your CELTA
In our experience there are a few essential ingredients for the success of your CELTA experience: keeping your level of stress down, making sure you are surrounded by a group of helpful, friendly people and taking time when possible to enjoy your surroundings and eat good food. Which is why we’ve decided to open a CELTA centre in the Auvergne, an extraordinary region full of medieval history, beautiful sites and fine gastronomy. Following on the success of our five week ‘slow’ CELTA course in Brittany we have decided to copy this idea at our new centre in the Auvergne. On the five week CELTA you have effectively 12 free days for your lesson planning and assignments compared to just 6 on the four week course. This makes the whole experience a lot less stressful plus you have the time to do some exploring and enjoy the beauty of the region.
We have set up a partnership with a secondary school in the central town of Puy- en – Velay called St Regis – St Michel. The school is reputed nationally for its investment in English teaching and every year a record breaking number of its students sit the Cambridge main suite exams. We run our CELTA courses in bright modern classrooms in the school, each with a magnificant view over the town of Puy en Velay, candidates have the option of lodging in apartments in a historic building which belongs to the school and we have the pleasure of being part of a very dynamic educational community.
