The Language Proficiency Diploma (DCL) is a national professional qualification for adults. It addresses the needs of the business world. Its unique feature lies in its approach: assessing language skills in a context that closely simulates real-world professional situations. Based on their performance, candidates receive the diploma with a designation corresponding to one of the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR).

The assessed areas of competence

The DCL valid five areas of expertise in the language commonly used for communication in professional settings:

  • reading comprehension
  • understanding spoken language or French Sign Language (LSF)
  • oral expression or expression in sign language
  • written expression
  • interaction through spoken language or sign language

At the end of the test, the jury awards the successful candidates one of the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, based on their performance: A1-A2 for the first level of Professional French, and A2-C1 for all other languages.

The objective of our service

Training content:

  • Presentation of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR)
  • Presentation of the principles and general structure of the DCL FLE exam. Targeted practice for all levels of the DCL FLE (from Level 1 to Level 5).
  • Taking a mock exam under real exam conditions
  • We provide targeted exercises for individual, personalized study, focusing on the four skills required to pass the DCL exam (oral and written expression, and oral and written comprehension).

Terms and conditions:

  • In-person and online training (via Zoom)
  • Ideally, training should take place in a group setting, which allows for a participatory and active approach, based on practical scenarios, discussions, and opportunities for participants to speak. If the training is for a single individual, the trainer will take on the role of facilitator/instructor.
  • Alternating between theoretical inputs and practical application
  • Learner-centered pedagogy
  • Detailed feedback provided after each individual assignment submitted by the learner. Individualized formative assessment, through a practice DCL (Digital Competence Level) test.

Duration and Price:

  • 30 hours €1,400 /candidate (including tax)
  • 50 hours €2,300/candidate (including tax)

The registration fee for the DCL exam is not included.

Prerequisites:

A B1 level is required for the DCL English exam, and an A2 level for the DCL French as a Foreign Language exam.
